Asenso-Boakye, visits communities affected by tidal waves in the Ada East and West Districts of Greater Accra.

The minister for works and Housing and Member of parliament for Bantama constituency today

paid a working visit to the communities and people in the Ada East and West districts of Greater Accra :

 Azizanya, Kewunor, Otrokpe, Lolonyakope, Akplabanya and Anyaman, all communities in the Ada East and West districts of the Greater Accra region that were seriously affected by the recent strong tidal waves along the Country’s coastline. 

These storm surges are stark reminder of the adverse effects of climate change as they hardly occurred at this time of the year in the past.

 

Government takes the threat of coastal erosion and flooding seriously and would continue to make huge financial investments in various sea defence projects across the Country; in the Volta, Central, Western and Greater Accra regions as has been done in the past. 

Asenso advised all political actors to resist the temptation of making partisan induced remarks that militates against a whole-of-society approach needed to address this national concern.
