"On Wednesday, January 19th 2022, as part of my Industry Visits, I inspected the progress of work at the soon to be completed Japan Motor’s Assembly Plant for the assembly of Nissan vehicles under the Ghana Automotive Development Programme.

It comprises of a show room with a conference facility, offices, two assembly lines and test trucks for either vehicle, test-line for brake-speed alignment, water test facility, container and scrap yards.

Upon completion, the plant would assemble the new Nissan Navara Pick-Up and the Nissan Almera vehicles for Japan Motors. It would have the capacity to assemble 10,000 new vehicles.

At the time of the visit, a Test Trial assembly for both the Nissan Pick-Up (Navara) were on-going. The plant which is to be launched soon would be the 4th to be completed under the Ghana Automotive Development Programme. The Automotive sector is one of the Strategic Anchor Industries currently being developed.

The visit gave the opportunity to interact with the Management and Construction Staff of the plant and congratulated on their diligence and hard work to duty.."
