FRANCIS ASENSO BOAKYE INUAGUARATES NEW GOVERNING BOARD OF THE STATE HOUSING COMPANY LIMITED
Francis Asenso-Boakye, MP writes:
This morning, I inaugurated the new governing board of the State Housing Company Limited
(SHC). The SHC is the nation’s premier developer in the housing sector.
I charged the new board to focus on the provision of safe, secure and decent affordable housing with a creative arrangement for workers to leverage their pensions and together with party of their monthly salaries to access these homes thought mortgage payment. I pledged my Ministry’s preparedness to assist the company to achieve this objective.
Again, I emphasized the need for a productive and harmonious working relationship between the board and management. While the board is involved in providing strategic direction, management is charged with ensuring the day-to-day administration of the company. For this reason, the board must not be seen to be interfering in the everyday running of the organization. Management and board must therefore work together, while recognizing their respective distinct roles.
I am optimistic, that, with the array of expertise available on the new board, it will provide the necessary strategic leadership in driving SHC in realizing it’s corporate objectives.
